My dog keeps eating small animals, possums, squirrels, birds... I don't know what to do about this?

I don't  see that this will hurt the dog as long as he's getting his yearly shots.  You ought to train him to hunt or give him another job to do.  He sounds driven to do a job - help him feel fulfilled.  He's a dog.

Try looking for a local training club and enroll in classes.  There are all kinds - obedience, earth dog, terrier/ratting, tracking, etc.  They are ususally very affordable and it's a fun bonding activity for both you and your dog.

Outsource his services to a pest control company. I'm just kidding. Try to keep him on the leash and tell him NO whenever he gets the urge.
