My dog keeps throwing up?

Hi.

My dog kept throwing up her food last week, we took her to the vets and she gave her a antibiotic and told us to keep the dog off food for 24 hours. When we went back the next day as the dog was having diarrhea he gave us some food to mix with boiled rice. 5 days later the dog is throwing up and going in for an x-Ray tomorrow. Any ideas what it could be. The dog is a Lab, female 2 years old. :(

If your dog continues to throw up solids but can keep water down, she may have a partial blockage of her digestive track.  This could be caused by un-chewed rawhide, socks, undies, stuffed animal pieces - well you get the picture.  Is your dog a chewer?  Could she have possibly gotten into something or swallowed something that could be stuck?  An s-ray will be able to help determine if this is the cause.
