My dog keeps trying to eat her own p**p?

I've read that pineapple helps make the p**p icky tasting to the dog..  the dog could need better quality food (google for dogfood analysis).  There are some things I carry inmy store just for my friend that has this problem, she has not reviewed yet.

Best bet make sure to clean up right away as soon as he goes. Check with vet and try the products geared toward this problem while improvign diet.

Your dog is needing more nutrients.  You are probably not feeding your dog a good quality food.  Try feeding her a good quality food and all natural.  This will help with a lot of things, including her eating her own p**p!

The very best thing you can do is to purchase a pill called 'Deter'. You can crush this and put it in your dog's food, or just give it to her. Most of the time they will eat it. This pill makes their p**p taste horrible! I guarantee she'll stop as soon as the medicine takes affect. I'm not sure where to get the pill though. You could try looking online, at your local pet store, or your dog's vet. I would suggest checking with your vet first.

Scold her, try squirting her with water from a spray bottle. My dog did that, and all we did was yell 'NO" and spray her. She eventually stopped.

This is not due to a dog not getting the correct diet....it is a behavior issue. Vets will tell you the same thing.  Correcting your dog is the best course....IE Water bottle.....Stern No ect....

Putting Gasoline on your dogs p**p is not going to correct your dog cause if he should eat it then he could get VERY ill or even die.

Usually an issue like this is more for attention.....

So....It is best to train him not to do so.  I trained mine by teaching him what "Leave It" means.  By teaching him with his own p**p...he knows that he must "Leave It"

Remember a dog is like a toddler...reward good behavior!!

There are about 20 different reasons why she could be doing it.  We buy those pills for coprophagia, and as soon as she figures out that it makes her p**p taste bad, she won't eat the pills.  I guess she thinks p**p is delectable....  The only way we can keep her from doing it is by watching her when she goes in the yard or making sure all the p**p is picked up immediately if we don't want to supervise her.  Really hard to stop them from doing it though.
