i have given him an aspirin on numerous occasions, and he stops arching. a few days will go by where he's fine, but then it will come back. i thought the problem was him curling up so tight when he sleeps, in the winter he curls up next to the heaters in the house. are the arched back and trembling symptoms of something more serious?

  1. It could be a slipped disk or pinched nerve.

  2. Your dog is in a lot of pain, and it could be very serious. It could be anything from a spinal problem to a twisted gut. You need to get him to the vet ASAP. He is trying to tell you that he is hurting.

  3. If he is older it could be arthritis.  His vet can tell you for sure.

  4. He might have something stuck in him, like something he ate. The best thing to do is to take him to the vet.
