My dog rolled over my parakeets cage and now my bird doesnt trust me and all her tail feathers fell off!!!!!

my dog tipped my cage over and my bird wont even let me pet her any more and ALL of her long tail feathers are gon.the vet that i called said they might grow back and might not

take the cage off the floor where your dog can't roll over it again. that will make it feel more secure... then i guess just start from scratch

wow, what an accident. Well I say you start from the beginning with your bird, show her trust, and then you can try to touch her and train her once again. I hope the feathers grow back!! Good luck! :)

Usually tail feathers don't just fall off so you should take extra caution because the tail could have gotten stuck somewhere. Right now you can approach your bird carefully and don't try to pet her but speak calmly or whistle. Soon she will trust you to pet her and then soon hold her.
