My dog stinks!!!! please help!!?

uuuuugghhhhh!! its really gross. He is a 7 year old pit bull and every now & then his butt stinks sooo bad!! I also have a 2 year old female & I never really notice this scent coming from her. He is clean & he's an inside dog. He only goes outside..in the backyard, to go to the bathroom & run around a bit. He is ALWAYS supervised so i know he didn't roll in anything. Whatever it is, he was sitting by me on the couch tonight and now i smell the funk on me!!!!! please tell me what this is, and what do I do to get rid of it??????

well the breed does have gas issues causing them stink .  What type shampoo are you using.   Does his p**p look normal.. it could be many things. first i would try spcial shampoo. then if that does not work. then i would take him to vet see if they can find anything out

I agree with the other post, it's probably his anal glands that need to be expressed.  Take him to a groomer or your vet and have them do it.

Ask your veterinarian. It is possible that he has an infection of the anal glands. A groomer cannot treat that.

LOL...sorry couldn't help but laugh at "the funk on me". If it smells like p**p then it could possibly be his anal sacs that are stinking so bad. They need to be expressed by a vet or a groomer and some dogs have to be expressed more often than others.

i totally agree with every else about the expressing the anal glands at your local vet/groomer! But do keep in mind, pitties are very gaseous! As i have 3 of them, and my house can get stinky if they all get going at once! Good luck
