DO NOT TELL ME TO CALL THE VET!! I am waiting for them to open. I just wanted some insight before hand. She is going to be 8 years old in a couple weeks. Out of the blue she just stopped eating, has had terrible gas, and has been eating grass.

  1. she is eating grass to try to vomit. something she ate is definitely not agreeing with her. as long as she is alert, waiting for the vet to open should be just fine.

  2. Could be tonsillitis, gastritis, pancreatitis, or several other things.  I know it's hard but be patient.  Your vet will soon be able to give you the answer.

  3. When a dog eats grass that means something is wrong with him/her. It could have some sort of digestion problem or other ailment.

  4. first, switch what you are giving her. make some rice with chicken, but put NO SEASONINGS!!! seasonings just upset the dogs' stomachs. also just in case try giving your other dog that too. Give them both that recipe for about four days. if she's still not eating, then yeah im not telling you to call the vet but i am recommending it; this isn't a straight 'go to the vet now!' thing but i think that it would be a big help to get xrays an stuff so that you know if she ate like a sock or something an you didn't know it. yep. and also if she still doesn't eat try and see if your other dog is stealing her food. that's what happened with my two dogs- i thought both of them were eating out of their own bowls, but when i turned around Rosie, my four year old coon hound, was eating my other dog (border collie) 's food. He lost weight before that an we just thought that breed was supposed to be skinny. lol but anyway yeah just calm down and try giving her rice or bananas-- that always helps an upset stomach. good luck!!!!!
