Hi! My dog tore out a handful of carpet where the carpet meets up with the tile. I have the carpet fibers that were torn out but wonder ing if anyone knows how to repair the patch? Do I super glue piece by piece back in or is there another way?? Thanks for your help.

  1. http://www.courtesycare.com/OtherService...

if you have some carpet in the closet or a spare bit in the attic, use a cutter to cut out a piece of carpet where it's damaged and then use the cutter to cut a piece the same size from the spare.... glue or tape together.....

if you don't have spare carpet, investigate laying a bit of tile there  as if it belonged there..... I hope you're NOT renting....

  2. Ok a carpet place may be able to match the carpet to patch it if you do not have any extra carpeting from the original install.

When we had new carpet laid we got lots of leftovers for just that reason. The carpet company comes out and uses special tape and heatseals it with a heatsealing tool for it to be permanent. They just cut out a solid patch piece, re-cut the bad part into a square and do their magic. It shouldn't cost much to have it done the right way. No I don't think you could put the pieces back in there and have it look right. Since you say it is at the edge of the tile then it needs the proper strength via the heat sealing so the part that turns under and hooks into the little nail stripping will have the strength it needs to stay hooked. If this were me, I would call a company and check out their costs of repair.
