Question:

My dog wakes me up at 3:00 a.m. Pt. 2?

My dog has been sleeping on my bed since last september. But now, (since I rearranged my room) she always sleeps in front of the door. Then around 2:00 or 3:00 a.m., she starts scratching on the door, and yowling. Then I have to get up (because she is so loud,) and take her outside, and I usually leave her out there.

I want to make her sleep in the garage (where she used to sleep,) but she's a 7-year old Siberian Husky, and although I know that Siberian Huskies can withstand heat (it's true, look here http://dog-breeds.suite101.com/article.cfm/huskies_5_not_so_common_facts) since the garage has no AC, I don't feel comfortable leaving her in there.

P.S. I bring her in right before I go to bed (around 11:00, that's when she eats too.) I also can't "wear her out so she's tired", my dad usually walks her because she's WAY too strong for me to keep control of the leash. (She is a sled dog after all.)

What do I do?

Thanks In Advance! :P

  1. just leave her sleep in your bed!!!!!! maybe shes not used to ur new room yet!!!!!!!!!!

  2. The problem is, that you are feeding her so late. That's the reason why she wakes you up at the same time. Try feeding her earlier, like around 7 or 8, then have your dad walk her around 11, and see if she will still wake you up.

  3. Well the dog might have to pee at three in the morning.  It doesn't sound like you are feeding your dog enough the way you put it in the question but if bathroom is the case, just start taking her outside a half hour later than usual in the morning.  week one: 3:30 AM  week two:  4:00 AM and so on.  If it is not a bathroom problem then just leave the door cracked so she can get out into other rooms.  As a far as the garage goes.  It depends the temperature.  My dog likes to sleep on tiles.  So just line them up in the garage and let her sleep in there one night.  Also is it is like 90 degrees or close, put a fan in the garage.  make sure you keep the tiles cold though because they absorb her heat.  So check them often to make sure they are cold
