  1. my dog had the same problem.

we took her to the vet and they said that she had a inflated artery in her butt. sounds nasty, but it hurts like heck! my dog was not eating because  if she eats, she will have 2 use the restroom. her waste pushes against that inflated thing. instead of feeling pain, she just would not eat.

  2. What kind of dog is it?.. my chihuahua had a similar problem.. but we finally found one that she likes its called moist n meaty i think.. If you havent tried that I would. Its worth a shot.

  3. my brother's dog wouldnt eat his food either, he mixed some plain vanilla yogurt in with his dry food and he started to eat it.

  4. I agree with Judgerz

  5. I have been using purina one for years. My vet says it is one of the best foods. It is small and can be bought at walmart.

  6. how old is your dog?  how was his appetite before he stopped eating?  does he have any medical problems?  Is he taking any medications?

Talk to your dog's doc, because he might not be eating if something is wrong.  Either that, or he's being picky.  The only way to know for sure is to have a vet check him out!

I recommend Royal Canin.  It is a great food, backed with lots of research and care.

  7. Well, if you keep switching foods, it could cause health problems. Stick to one brand of dog food, try putting a little treat and the bottom, so he has to eat all the food to get to it, It works with my pup.

Or cut up the treat into a million little bits and mix the food up with it.

Or get wet food and mix it up with the dry food.

    This will work. :)

    I hope I helped!

    God bless.

  8. take him to the vet

  9. You could try Canidae. It is not too expensive, and it has a great ingredient list. I have a Shiba Inu who is also very picky with his food. Some things you can try:

    1. Add some bits of cheese or bacon bits into his kibble.

    2. Add some water to the kibble to bring out the flavor.

    3. Mix a bit of wet food into the kibble.

    4. Get some dog food gravy to put on his kibble.

Here is some information on different dog diets:

    Hope this helps.

  10. My dog loves Innova, smells good (to him), good ingredients, and got small bits.  It's more towards the pricey range though.

Are you exercising him enough?  Sometimes they're just not hungry.  Don't free-feed, offer the food to him and take it away if he doesn't finish.  Try adding some fresh vegetables or some boiled chicken breast.

  11. Try Flint River Ranch.  It may be a little more expensive per pound, but you can feed less so you actually it goes further than a cheaper brand and costs about the same per day.  The delivery is also included in the price so it comes right to your home!

  12. You shouldn't give him an option of different foods to choose from!  But if that doesn't work then you could try Pedigree dog food. I think it may be a little expensive but it wouldn't hurt! And they have dry food and canned liquid food.

  13. Give him some human food. Chicken,beef,lamb,turkey..as long as its not oily or saucy then is healthy to give as a treat.

I would recommend a dog can food called ceaser. Every dog i know loves it and cant resist the temptation. It costs around 85 cents per packet.

As for dry food.. many dogs dont eat it. I mean come on..would you? Its not tasty for them. The dry food that i would recommend is science diet for puppies. It has smaller pieces and is more nutritional.

  14. He is being picky.  Don't give him a choice.  He will learn.

  15. What food is he used to eating?

Have you tried mixing a little warm water or some of the gravy type toppings they sell in it?

If/when he gets hungry enough, he'll eat.

  16. Try any of the 5 and 6 star foods on this site. They're healthier and tastier. My personal favorite is Innova.

If he still won't eat, try wet food. Most dogs can't resist. But try to get him to eat dry food asap, since it's much better for them.

  17. My dog had the same problem.  Then we found this food he adores.  YOu could try ScienceDiet.

  18. try pouring tuna juice or hamburger grease over whatever food you got and the dog will eat it i have a very picky dog myself and that is how i get him to eat certain foods! also most dogs like kibbles and bits not very expensive and little bites!! you could also mix leftovers off your plate with food that helps to! you could try warm water it creates a gravy with the food and makes it soft and easy to swallow!

  19. Don't let yr dog tell you what he wants to eat..

After all yr the boss not yr dog, try bakers complete my dog loves it

  20. Taste of the Wild is a reasonably priced, grain free, small bite dog food.  It gets good reviews from people that have picky eaters.  You might also try adding cottage cheese, or a spoonful of wet food to his dry to make it more palatable.
