My dogs chewing my fence up HELP!?

my dogs a staffy an she has been chewing the palings off the fence and both her and my little dog have been getting out into the streets when im not home, do you think a muzzle would help the situation and if so? would i be able to leave the muzzle on while I'm at work as im at work usually 6 hrs a day and/or during the night? Please advise

  1. The dog is probably bored. I'd try walking him at least twice a day and recommend not leaving him out in the yard when you're not home.  Toys will help too.  I'd go for a really strong chew toy with some peanut butter in it to help keep him occupied.  Good luck.


  2. most pet stores carry those deterrent sprays. A good one is called Fooey but they all work.

  3. A muzzle is fine. You could also get your dog some chew toys instead and some sour apple deterrent spray on the palings.

  5. i personally don't think you should get her a muzzle because i think it's kind of cruel to her. what you should do is get some pepper and mix it with a bit of water then dab it on the fence so your dog wont go near it. also, get it some chew toys, then soak them in water then freeze it and give it to your dog so her teeth arent as sore.

  6. your dog is chewing on your fence because he is teething. he is trying to bite so he teeth won't hurt. him/her a toy to satisfy his/her cravings.
