Yesterday I saw that my dog was limping and occasionally lifting her back leg and not walking on it. So I felt her leg and didn't feel anything out of place. I lifted each of her toes and her last toe when I lifted it I knew that was the thing that was hurting her. My boyfriend said that on Thursday or Friday she made a mega jump to catch a football. He said it was the highest she's ever jumped and she was several feet off the ground (she's an australian cattle dog and catches frisbees mid-air a lot) so I assume that she landed on it wrong. We were thinking of taking her to the vet tomorrow or Tues if isn't better, but should we? What will they do if she sprained her toe? I know for humans all you do is tape it up... I would hate to spend a lot of money if they are going to do something I can do at home. She's still running around (more than she should be) but I figure it's because she's bred to be a working dog... am I right?Any help or advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
