You can hear the noise through the speakers as well as muffled source audio

  1. There may be many reasons for this.

Is it clicking when you have the amp on Mute?

If not, then you can rule out electrical interference. If the clicking is on all speaker channels then the audio connection between your DVD player (I'm presuming that is what is connected to your amp) may be faulty - try changing the cable.

If the clicking noise is on only one speaker channel, then you've either got a blown speaker, or blown channel in the amp. If it's the speaker, then you'll need a new speaker (or matching set of speakers) if it's the amp, then you'll need a new amp (mostly amp repairs are too costly). To find out if it is the speaker, swap it with another speaker and see if the clicking problem stays with that speaker.

Finally, to rule out the DVD player, try connecting something else up to your amp to see if the problem persists.

    Good Luck!
