My download speed got so slow,what happened?

i checked the broadband speed and it's 243kbps.but my download speed is just 4-8kb per second but before,it ranges from 60-80kbps...what happened?

  1. The people that give you your internet connection could be having problems or you have reached a download limit and they have altered your download speed or you could have problems with a modem or device


  2. if you have any other computers on the network turn them off

    if you are downloading from a wireless computer, do the same

    if this doesnt work call your ISP people and ask them all the questions

  3. your ISP could've capped you. Try this:

    unplug the wire that goes into your router and put it in a computer directly. if you can't then skip this.

    next go to http://speedtest.net

    choose the recommended location and let it test. see what you get. if it's much faster, then it could be the server you were downloading from. if thats not the case, then most likely your ISP saw you downloading too much so you might have to give them a call and make up some reason you were downloading so much, like "i was backing up my website server"

  4. You ahve been using this for long time you have saturated the network. Alos you might have many temporary files. Delete all of them adn then try again.

  5. There must be a cow sat on your internet cable somewhere.

    It will get off in time :)
