Just to give you background info, i went to a catholic school for 9 years. it was EXTREMELY strict. like they'd measure our sock lengths...and alla that

so in my dream we were all dressed in our uniforms but they had been altered. as if we were in britney spears "baby on more time" music video. like tied above our stomachs and everything

it was taking place in my old homeroom but the super strict principal (aka satan) was sitting in ym teachers desk and all the girls.. we were just dancing around and i distinctly remember dancing to "unwritten-natasha bedingfield" almost the whole time. we were just dancing and acting wild. which is soooo weird because we weren't even allowed to talk in class. but we were dancing and sitting on desks and doing whatever we wanted and the principal was just reading. like she didn't even care

now what the heck was this supposed to tell me?! hhaha

im sooo confused. that was sooo weird.

it was so ironic.

  1. Growing up, we all have to adhere to rules that seem strict and downright excessive at times.  When transitioning into adulthood, people often break away from guidelines previously established for them, inorder to make up their own minds concerning personal beliefs and values.  This break away can be especially dramatic for a teenager in an extreme environment.  The strict, Catholic school setting is a perfect example of this, and may help explain the unruly, Catholic school girl stereotype so often portrayed on TV.

What really stands out to me is the song you mentioned.  In "Unwritten" Natasha Bedingfield paints herself as an empty slate with a world of possibilities at her feet.  In one line she says, "I've been conditioned not to make mistakes, but I can't live that way."

Dreams often help us get our minds around new ideas or experiences at the deepest levels of ourselves.  You grew up in a school where the length of your socks actually mattered!  In your adult life, as you reconcile the differences between what you were told as a child and what you learn every day through your personal, adult experiences (good and bad), you are probably growing into a person that falls somewhere inbetween the two.  In your dream, you and the other girls were dancing and being carefree and suddenly that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. What you were doing was just different from what you were taught, and maybe that's ok.

"Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten."

  2. Dreams are uncontrolled, in other words the subconscious part of your brain has control, meaning you don't.  I am not a expert, but I would say that this is your mind making up the exact opposite scenario of what school was like.  I went to a Catholic school as well and it was as strict as yours.  This was your mind making a twist on your schoolhood.

  3. It could be that you experiencing an urge into your wild side! ever felt bored or bland? could be that your wanting to go out and try something new. And maybe its just a funny dream! who knows, not everything is explainable! =]

  4. You can't control your dreams.  It is something that you must think about in your life.  In your dream you got to rebel and dress exactly the opposite of how you did when you were in school.  You probably wish you could have done that to get back at them for being so strict.
