I stay in Michigan. My balance is $475 traffic violations fines. Secretary of State want me to pay this and set up a payment agreement with an insurance company that sued me a couple years of ago because of an accident that involved a limo service company and myself. The bill is $5000. I can pay what ever amount a month. Now they want me to purchase some insurance from an insurance company to be allowed to legally drive. Someone told me if I go to another state like Nevada I can reapply for a license and restore it without paying the remaining fines??? Is this true???

  1. I hope you never drive again.  You are irresponsible and dangerous.

No, Nevada won't give you a license.  The states share information.

  2. No, when you apply they will do a search to see if you ever had a license and they will find out. Just do what you have to do to get your license restored.

  3. The States share information - if you attempt to get another licence, it'll be fraud and the governments take that VERY seriously.

  4. Sure, but if you live in michigan and don't pay the fines they do this little thing called ARREST you. Is it really worth a year in jail just to avoid paying $475? As far as the insurance company goes, the state can't force you to pay it.

Be aware that you have to carry insurance on your vehicle. Its a law.

  5. That "someone" is lying to you. If your license is suspended in one State, it is suspended in all States. The computer would catch you really quick. Then you would be charged with filing false documents to the State.
