  1. Deep breaths :-), and leave the house early enough that you can stop for coffee or something else along those lines beforehand - don't be rushed right before the test.  Just remind yourself that you've done it all before - now there's just someone else in the passenger seat.  Remember, the examiner is far more likely to let little mistakes slip by if you appear calm and confident behind the wheel - they want to pass people who drive safely, not perfectly.

    Good luck tomorrow!

  2. First you HAVE TO CHILL. I freaked out my first time and failed. Just trust yourself that you CAN do it and you'll be fine. Listen to some happy music before you go and take a DEEP BREATH before you start.

  3. If you know the book and the rules, how to start the car and stop, stay within your lane, signal when you are about to make a turn, and set the brake and turn off the engine when finished you should have no problem. You should have been practicing all these moves including horizontal parking so they are not new.  If you did practice and did so satisfactorily, no sweat. Just drive as you are told.

  4. If you think your going to do something wrong remember this " You and you alone are in control of the vehicle,  Its up to you to decide what you should do for the safety of pedestrians and whoever is in your car.   If you think your going to do something wrong, stop and correct yourself.  Show the instructor that your in charge lol good luck and have fun...

  5. if you know all the rules and know what you are doing then you will be fine

  6. smoke a cig before you get in the car to calm your nerves down

  7. BREATHE.........BREATHE..........BREATHE...

Just tell yourself you'll do alright and not to worry about it.

  8. first, breathe

second, if you fail, you'll survive (and can re-test)

    third, smile

fourth, dress comfy..you aren't there to impress them with your attire after all

fifth, make sure the car is clean, no drinks or food are around and pop some gum in your mouth so give you something to do

sixth...you can't look too much, better to be safe than sorry

    good luck!

  9. Don't worry about it, take it slow, do what your instructer says. Talk to him/her, they do this all day, ask them about that. How many times a day, is it always the same, do any others talk or ask questions about this, what got you started on being a driver's instructer???

Make it as comfortable as you can. Worrying always makes it worse.

Good luck, I hope you do fine, and feel good through out!

  10. Just chill. Its not like the dmw person is a monster or something? Just make sure you keep both hands on the wheel at all times, look out for pedestrians, and go slow on school areas. Another thing, make sure that on stops (stop signs) stop before the line first, if you cant see if you're clear then u can get a lil closer but always stop before the line first. Best of luck!

  11. dont think too much. know the rules and follow them but just pretend your driving just like regular and dont endanger the person giving the test and you'll be fine. good luck

  12. Well I dont know any words I could say that would make this event less monumental, hense nerve racking for ya... except that when you fail... U can just go back in a few weeks and try again in most states.

Perhaps have a parent or older relative at least 21, take you out to give you a "rehearsal test" so they can watch your maneauvers and see how you handle being asked to make certain lane changes, turns, etc. They can then advise you.

For wide turns... I imagine that means switching lanes to the right while at a turn in an intersection... If thats it just imagine the layout while you turn as if the lines continued through the intersection. (sometimes they actually do in cities)

Do NOT smoke a cigarette just before OR ESPECIALLY DURING THE TEST

  13. you either know how to drive or you don't.

  14. you'll do fine, the most thing that people s***w up on is either the three point turn or the parallel parking part. A wide turn is like 3 -5 pts off. The most you can get before failing is like 16-19 points, over that you failed already. Take it easy, drink a sobe drink before the test and just drive as you been doing. Be careful on the 3 point turn and be extra careful on the parallel parking. If you think your doing terrible on the parallel parking you get a chance to fix it, after that your on your own. You''ll do fine.

  15. Driving is not that hard, you're freaking out for no reason. Just pay attention to what you're doing and you'll be fine. Make sure before you pull out you check your mirrors and signal that you're pulling out. Its not hard. They just ask you to drive around, stop at a light, take a few turns, then go back.

  16. First of all take a deep breath

Everyone is nervous about this. The only advice I can give you is pretend you are driving a friend home and they are giving you directions.

Concentrate on one thing at a time, when you are coming to a stop look at the stop line and focusing on stopping and then do your checks (mirrors  and blind spots.)

It will be okay just do your best

  17. Safe driving tips to help pass your road test:

STEERING Steer smoothly whether you are driving straight ahead, turning or backing up.

ACCELERATION Accelerate smoothly and moderately. Don't race the engine or cause it to stall.

BRAKING Bring the vehicle to a stop gently. Start braking well before your stopping position to avoid "jerky" stops. Make sure you stop your vehicle in the proper position of the lane.

CLUTCH/GEAR Always be sure your vehicle is in the correct gear. With either an automatic or a manual transmission, shift into the proper gear at the right time without "grinding" the gears.

SPEED Obey the posted speed limit, of course, but also adjust your speed properly due to weather, road, visibility and traffic conditions.

FOLLOWING DISTANCE Keep an adequate space "cushion" between your vehicle and those you are following. Use the "two second rule" described in the Driver's Manual. Be sure to increase your following distance in poor weather or visibility.

TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Know the meanings of signs, signals and pavement markings, and obey them consistently.

STOPPING POSITION If a stop is required, stop your vehicle before it reaches an intersecting street. If stop lines or crosswalks are present, stop before crossing them. If your view is blocked after stopping behind the crosswalk, move up until you can clearly see your way, then stop again if necessary.

LANE SELECTION AND POSITION Keep your vehicle in the proper traffic lane, especially when preparing to make turns. Don't allow room for another vehicle to pass you on the side that you are turning toward.

COMMUNICATION Let other drivers and pedestrians know which way you want to go. Use your directional signals or horn consistently and at the proper times.

OBSERVATION Look for and identify potential problems or hazards in the traffic around you - not just straight ahead, but behind you and on either side. Check your mirrors frequently, but be sure to look over your shoulder behind you when changing lanes or backing up.

ANTICIPATE & REACT TO OTHERS Anticipate possible driving errors by others and be ready to react safely to make up for their mistakes.

  18. It was really pretty easy, went through a roundabout, parrallel parked, parked around a corner and changed lanes and that was it. I thought I bombed so hard core because I totally failed parallel parking (stupid cones) but I passed just fine. Its gonna be ok. I was freaked out of my pants too but it was all ok. If you know the rules of the road your gonna be fine.

  19. Don't worry at worst you can only fail!

  20. ever watch the brady bunch?

i'll share with u the advice greg gave marsha when she was having anxiety over her test that was scheduled for the following day ..

greg told marsha to just think of the driving test person as sitting there in their underwear .. (lol)

the show went on to show marsha getting to the begining of her driving test and yes she was anxious then out walks this older man and she remembers what greg told her and she laughs and proceeds to loose all anxiety and successfully past her test.  (lol)

thing is .. ur going to do fine .. ur ready and u'll pass .. and yes we have all been there before and can tell u that it will be over in no time at all .. just be confident and if necessary .. vision the test person sitting there in their underwear .. (lol)

    good luck.

  21. The driving test is so freaking easy you'd have to be a total moron to fail it. Think about it, all sorts of terrible drivers pass why wouldn't you?
