My driving license has been revoked 4 4getting to send it back? y is this and whats it mean?? im in the uk?

i have driven for 8 yrs with no other points added. i got a sppeding fine but forgot to send my paper part back. The are now saying its being revoked and i can drive on my revoke license for 12 months. What does being revoked mean, and does it mean l lose my license forever? I'm in the uk

  1. Don't think so, somehow.  Sounds more like you have been banned from driving for 12 months.  That would have been done in court and you would have been summonsed to court for the hearing. Did you not attend?

    You cannot "drive for 12 months" if you have been banned!

    Do you, or do you not possess a valid UK licence?

    You're clearly confused.  Try asking the CAB or a solicitor.


  2. revoke (v.) To void or annul by recalling, withdrawing, or reversing: Her license was revoked.

    Revoked means your license is no longer valid, and you can't drive.  So for the next year you had best find another way to get around, because that is how long it's revoked for.

    No, not forever, although it may seem like it, just the 12 months.
