  1. I would say you need to replace the heating element.

  2. The Thermostat may be failing and stuck or the heating element may have a fusable link that has burnt or the heating element is failed it's self you'll need to hire a service teck

  3. Normally the venting system needs the lint removed and cleaned all the way to the o.s. of house.......good luck...also the filter.

  4. If you have a multimeter and your dryer schematics (if you don't have your booklet, you can look up the model online and fnd one), you can check the heating element yourself.

If it is the heating element, you can order one from online or from a local repair shop and replace it youself.   (most models are super easy)

If it isn't the heating element, I would then recommend a service tech.

  5. ~~If it's a gas dryer check to be sure the pilot light is lit. I had that happen once, it went our for no apparent reason. If not that, then I'd call out the repair man.~~

  6. My dryer did the exact same thing last year.  As a result it would never shut off and would take forever for my clothes to dry.  We ended up getthing the heating mechanism in it fixed for about $60.00.  Not sure if it's the same where you are but it wasn't bad to get it fixed and it's still working great.
