  1. I guarantee you that the suspense about when you'll have the baby is worse torture than actually giving birth.

It will drive you BATTY if you let it.  Try to smile and "let it be".

I know it sounds easier said than done, but I've had 2 kids, and it was TORTURE wondering and wondering.

  2. I was 4 cm for 20 days and still wasinducedwith my first and the doctor ddidn'tseem concerned at all so I know how you feel A due dates a due date right sometimes I wonder why they give due dates at all maybe it should be a due month...lol I wouldnt worry theirs nothing you can do so just enjoy your last little bit of time before birth and one rrecommendation is sleep as much as possible

  3. Chill out. Stressing won't help.

The kid will come when it's ready.

Due dates are usually wrong. Every one of my brother's and sisters was born about 2 weeks after the due date. I was born 9 days early.

I've heard that some exercise can help. Like a walk or s*x or something simmilar.

DON'T try castor oil. That will just make you sick.

But there's no way to "get this baby out" naturally and safely before it's ready.

  4. at 3 cm, you really could go into labor at any time.  you should be getting some rest and putting your house in order and eating some nutritious food.

it's still considered normal for a baby to be 2 weeks late, so don't worry about the baby.  as long as you are feeling normal movement, baby will be fine.

s*x is the only thing that has any scientific evidence supporting it as a natural way to induce labor.  tell your partner that you need some prostaglandins on your cervix.  ;)

btw, the longer this process takes, the easier your delivery will be.  your body needs to slowly adjust and stretch and open up.  if you speed things up, you will be more likely to tear or have a traumatic birth.  inductions might be more convenient, but they really aren't better for mother or baby unless there is a medical emergency that requires the baby to come out quickly.

  5. ask your doctor if you can tweak your nipples and have s*x. my doctor told me to. its not a wives tale, they reallly help by releasing hormones. but nothing will help if your babies not ready. i was due nov. 27 and delivered dec 2 . so BE PATIENT. and as uncomfortable as it may be, SLEEP!!!!  oh and CONGRATS!!

  6. i was 3cm dilated for 2days before baby came i tried all the old wives tales none worked for me babies just come when ready good luck hun

  7. Wow! Three centimeters sounds like a great way to start out labor. Lucky you.

Is this your first baby? I hate to tell you this, but the average length of pregnancy for first-time moms is actually 41 weeks 1 day. (the old "40 week" rule was a guess not based on any research, but docs still use it anyway). So you are not really due yet! Plus, it is perfectly normal for a pregnancy to last 42 weeks and even longer in some cases. Your due date could be "off", or your baby could just need some extra time to grow. Personally, I would be much more nervous about trying to "evict" a baby that was not ready to be born than going over my *estimated* due date.

If your doctor is not worried, I wouldn't be either. You *will* go into labor, when the baby is ready to be born.

  8. The baby just isn't ready for it's appearance. But things that help speed things along are going for long brisk walks, climbing stairs, having s*x. I would think that your doctor would have offered to strip your membranes by now to help along the process. But it seems that your body is working at it, just not at the rate you want it to be.

  9. I was 2 cm for 2 weeks before I had my son.  Just because your due date is tomorrow doesn't mean you will have it tomorrow.  My sister in law had her's 5 days late.  Just look up a few things online how to go into labor.

  10. I walked around for three weeks 3cm dilated and 80% effaced, and STILL went 10 days over my due date before I was induced. babies rarely come on schedule. just relax and listen to your doctor, they have degrees for a reason.

  11. the baby will come out when he are she is ready.

  12. It's called an ESTIMATED due date for a reason. It's not like the baby has a calendar in there & says "oh today is the 22nd time to come out." Rest assured you WILL NOT be pregnant forever & that child will come when it's time. Nothing you can do will make the baby come before it's time to. Just let nature take it's course & that precious child "bake" as long as they need to. Be patient & enjoy being pregnant, believe it or not you will miss it.

  13. Due dates are estimates only. Your doctor should have told you that they are wrong most of the time. Most healthy babies are born ten days after an estimated due date. Waiting until your labor starts naturally and normally will give you a safer and gentler birth for both mom and baby. Best wishes, G

  14. it will come when its ready.... just let nature take it course!!

  15. dont be nervous it just as likely for your baby to be two weeks late as it is two early. the due date is just a guess that little wheel they use isnt magic and itsamost always wrong. this is the worst part... the waiting. dont worry your baby will come and she/he will come healthy.

    good luck
