My dvd player constantly pauses while playing a video.?

The disc could be bad. Third party and black market discs exspecially. I had bought Pirates of The Caribean at world's end once for $2 and the darn thing constantly froze up. Finally I just went and bought the original just released disk, excellent movie:-)

There are 3 possibilities.

1) Buy a DVD cleaning kit.

2) Clean the DVD and look for scratches and dust.

3) DVD player is bad and time for buying a new one.

Try another DVD.

yeah, it sounds like a dirty or scratched disc is causing it to freeze and lock up momentarily.
