What is the interference, and how do I fix it? It seems as though they are running of the same frequency..

  2. Frequency has nothing to do with it! Virtually all remote controls now work using Infra-Red (IR) pulsed LED's. Apparently the code being sent by your DVD remote is being interpreted by your TV as the code to shut off.

    The only chance you've got at "fixing" this is to move the DVD player as far from the TV as you can, so that when you press a button on the DVD remote, it is not pointing towards the TV.
