I used DivX to download the movie "Psycho" for my psychoogy class. When I burned it into a dvd-r disc, it plays perfectly when I use my laptop to play it, but it won't play on any of the three different dvd players that I have. How can I fix this?? I have the sony dvd-r.

  1. DivX files are not playable on regular DVD players - unless it specifically says it has Divx encoder.  You need to convert DIVX file into a regular DVD file - using some DVD creator sofware (iMovie/iDVD on Mac, for example).

  2. Use DVD Flick Guide to convert and burn your files to DVD. It is all-in-one tool and free.

  3. yes, divx or mpeg2 files cant be played on a normal dvd player. You need a divx certified dvd player to do that. There is nothing wrong with your dvd players.

You can connect the laptop to the TV if the tv has an S-VIDEO input along with the laptop.

    hope this helps.
