My dvd/video recorder keeps freezing when i record onto a dvd.What shall i do?

I have a daewoo drvt 40 dvd/video recorder and whenever i record onto a dvd it freezes after just a few minutes. However, it records perfectly fine onto a video. I have replaced my old one with the same model but it has the same problem. I have also tried using different recordable discs but to no avail. What shall i do?

If you've had two with the same defect, then there is only one solution - buy from a different manufacturer (additionally, DON'T buy a DVD / video recorder combination.  They are notoriously unreliable, no matter who makes them).

As I keep on saying, "Buy cheap, buy twice".
