i have 3 dwarf gouramis in a community tank along with some other fish. such as neon tetras and some type of other medium sized fish that are orange with black fins. the dwarf gouramis are always biting each other but seem to leave the other fish alone. why do they keep biting each other? i know some species of gourami are supposed to be agressive but everything i read has said the dwarf gouramis are peaceful.

  1. No not all gourami are male, some stores only sell males because they tend to have more color, but there are females too, i promise.    to keep any species of gourami together, you would need two females for every male. males will fight, and if there is only ne female, the males et over excited and accidently kill the female by stressing the female with its demands. two females with one male diffuses the amount that one female gets picked on too much.
