My dwarfy is soo cute! He fell in his water bowl, will he be alright? I didn't think he'd be big enough to drink out of the bottle thingy that hangs on the side so I gave him a small bowl to drink from and he fell overboard D:.

  1. I answered you just a few minutes a ago. But as long as your hamster does not contract wet tail he or she he be ok. I would go to a pet store and buy something for wet tail. Also the hamster can drink for a bottle if put in cage low enough for them to reach it. Sometimes this takes some thinking on how to get the water bottle to stay up; but it can be done. I hope this helps.

  2. get him dry and fast! he could easily get hypothermia

  3. Just lower the bottle- a dish is WAY too dangerous. Find a way for a bottle to work- I work in a pet shop, and /all/ our dwarf hamsters drink out of bottles with no issue. Like a human can drown in only a couple of inches of water, so can a hamster.

You need to get him fully dry, or he could catch a chill and die of cold quite quickly.

They will NOT get wet tail from going in water- that's not where wet tail comes from! The concern if they get soaked is a cold or a chill, NOT wet tail, which comes from heat or poor hygiene, not from just getting wet.

  4. be careful rodents, i've found are always dieing of being cold.
