My ear is warm and feels as if it is burning.?

This often happens and it is only one ear. Sometimes it gets a little pink. What supersition is this from?

It may be an ear infection.  The only superstition I know of is that if someone is gossiping about you, your ears will burn.

Sounds like someone has a voodoo doll and is lighting a match by your ear. Medically its nothing to worry about. The boring reason is that the tissues and blood vessels in your ear and earlobe are very fine and lots of blood can rush in their making it warm and sometimes even throb.  Ears are burning is also an old wives tale about when someone is speaking behind your back about you, usually something positive.
