Just fell and hit his right eye on the edge of my window and now it's black and swollen, how can I make the swelling go down? he can't even see out of it, and I'm afraid if I take him to the hospital they will call the cops and say that they think I did it, what do I do?

  1. a bag of frozen peas works better than ice

I agree, you should call the doctor. If your child is not at risk of death, loss of limb or eyesight your insurance might charge you extra. Call the doctor.

  2. You should take him to the closest ER, if you care about your child you will get him cared for imediately, if you don't get the care he needs, then you have a real problem

  3. wow is he ok??

  4. Apply a piece of raw meat, such as a steak or pork chop to the area and take him to a minor emergency clinic. It's probably just bruised heavily, but take him in to make sure.

I really doubt that they will suspect anything unless you give them a reason to.

  5. no they will not take him to the hospital they'll know what to do!

  6. Take him to the hospital, no matter what happens with the cops. His health is more important than issues with the cops. I'm sure they'll believe you weren't involved.

  7. Apply a cold press to the area and hold it there. That should take the swelling down. Don't be scared to take him to the hospital, they won't say anything to you as long as you tell the truth about what happened. My one year old son fell down when learning to walk and bumped his head,he had stitches in his head and the hospital never called the cops on me.

    I hope this helps.

  8. your son's eye is messed up and instead of taking him to the doctor, you're on YA asking how to fix it so no one will call the cops? Are you for real?

thanks for the reply, you made yourself sound even more stupid.

  9. Bumps, bruises are a common part of childhood.  As long as he's not having any problems that would need the ER, you can treat the bruise at home.  Others have mentioned to use ice or frozen vegetables, which are good suggestions.  My other suggestion is give him some children's tylenol to help reduce the swelling. Another option, if you're into natural/homeopathic remedies, is to use some arnica gel.  Just lightly rub some on the area a few times a day and it'll help with taking the edge off of the pain, and reduce the swelling.

  10. use ice

  11. I would call cps on you for NOT calling the doctor! Why are you afraid?

  12. When i was in the forth grade i had this huge softball hit me right in the eye and i put ice on it and it was fine

  13. put ice on it and call the doctor...

  14. You did the right thing. Just watch for any severe changes in him or the injury.

I took my son in once and I was completely suspected and they ended up doing xrays and everything completely outside of his injury only to find out there was nothing wrong - and I had to PAY for it!

I know exactly what you're saying.  Way to be a good mother.
