My elderly Dad was found today smashed up in the middle of the road, advice please?

My Dad is 69 and diabetic. He is a smart man who looks obviously nearly 70. He fell today in the town center and smashed his head in, bleeding and everything. He came to and people where carrying on their business and ignoring him on the floor. he had to call his own ambulance. What kind of crazy fuc##d up world do we live in when people ignore this? Can I do something legally about those people that ignored him? im really angry

Unfortunately, the world is cruel and we can't do much about it. i understand your frustration. you may want to contact a lawyer about that. But i they may not help you much. A lot of times people may think that if they were seen with your dad that they might get blamed for injuring him. Other times people are so shocked they don't know what to do so they just walk away. In emergency situations there are a lot of factors on why somebody didn't do something.  I wish the best for your dad. I will pray for him.

Ohh your poor father. What a holes!!!! Im not sure if you can do anything legally.But I would love to do something personally!! This world is full of heartless selfish people this day in age.

I feel so sorry for your father and yourself, there really is some heartless b******s out there. But on the plus side there's some very good people also, focus on your dad getting well and don't let yourself be angered by the degenerates who ignored him

Yer i agree it is a fuc%ed up world and im only 14. I was watching a early morning program on the tv and they asked random people on the street if they would help someone if they saw them getting beat up. Most people said no, i'm only 14 and i would try and help, perhaps not get my fists out but myabe persuade them to not kill the person. I think the world has gotten really heartless these days.

First I want to say how sorry I am that your father experienced that. I hope he is ok and I will pray for him. I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for 8 years and the law says that a person cannot be held liable if they do not help someone who is dying right in front of them. But if you start to help someone and they die you can be held liable if you had not been trained or have a license, like a CPR training card.

If you start performing CPR on someone and you were not trained, or even if your card expired, and they die or live and have complication like broken ribs or something, they or their family can press charges. There is no way you can prove that you didn't do anything to cause his death. Also if you start CPR and you stop and he dies you can also be held liable for "killing" him. Sounds crazy huh?

On another note, the people may have just not known what to do or didn't want to get involved for similar reasons. In my mind, there is NO reason good enough to not help someone in need when it is in your power to do so. Someone could have at least called for help...at least.

I don't know what's wrong with certain people who have an inability to respond to emergency situations. I've seen video where people have been struck in hit and run accidents and everyone around carries on as though nothing has occured. I don't think individual people can be held liable for not responding, but I'm no lawyer.

OMG! I cannot believe that happened! How heartless are people these days? I'm sorry i do not know if you can do anything legally - you're probably best asking a lawyer. I hope your dad gets better and you know what they say - What goes around comes around.
