They gave me 3 steps to take to protect my credit, including ID Freeze and TrustedID which they cover the cost. If my personal has been compromised on account of my employers insurance are there any other steps I should take to protect myself? Is my employer held liable and what should I do to protect myself? Should I consider changing jobs?

  1. Accept their offer to pay for the credit protection. Be vigilant and monitor your credit reports.

There is no question of liability until you can show harm. If nothing ever happens because of this and it wasn't due to their gross negligence or fraud, then you cannot sue for damages and win anything meaningful.

As far as getting another job, that is a judgment call only you can make. They seem to be a standup outfit for coming to you quickly and offering to pay for credit protection, but I don't know them better than you.
