My equity clock/temp wont work!!!?

ok so my equity clock/temp thing was working it the things that tell you the time and the temtupure and when the clock was on i pulled the bateries out and put them back in and it doesnt work there is a little black sq thing where the batteries are

Are you sure the batteries are good and did you get them back with the right polarity?
