  1. Proof of legitmate minimum contents insurance is a general leasing/rental requirement in the US but they cannot dictate your insurance source here legally. This doesn't sound kosher, I would research with legal aid.


  2. You can insure your house contents anywhere you like. That's in Australia though.

  4. No its not right , you have the choice to insure with any one you want, they are just being greedy

    tell them you already have insurance and if they want proof go and get insured with some one and show it to them

    they cannot do any thing about it

    ive never heard of this before with any one

    the only thing you have to give them is a bond and make sure the bond is signed over into a trust account not theirs

    so when you leave you are entitled to it back

  5. No, it's unethical.  If you complain to your state insurance department, they might intervene.  You can buy your insurance from ANYWHERE.
