My ethernet controller isn't working

Question

so i was looking threw to see what was the problem and on my 2wire router it has the ethernet light on green and on the back of my pc where i plug in my ethernet cable it has a orange and green light so i thought i had a internet connection already but when i clicked on internet explorer i wouldnt display the page it is enabled but when i go to my device manager and write next to the ethernet controller it has a exclamation mark but when i tried to reinstalled it it couldnt go threw please help me

Explain what you mean by the reinstall would not go thru.  Some detail would help.

What is the make/model of your ethernet card.  If network card is part of your motherboard, what is make/model of your computer,

You might have you download a driver to another computer, transfer to the one with the problem to fix this.  A USB (thumb) drive or CD could be used.
