My ex-fiance took my 12 books of CDs and DVDs worth $53,800 and pawned them when I was in Iraq, what to do?

SHe pawned them off and then broke up with me 30 days prior to me returning from a tour in Iraq and left my house bare

  1. You are going to need proof if you sue in court. Paper proof is probably the only thing a court will accept.


  2. try the courts dude. if that doesn't work start stalking her till she pays up

I would imagine you might have a problem if she was living with you at the time, assuming they wouldn't know if the property was actually yours.  You may want to talk to a lawyer, but in many cases things like this don't usually work out well.  If she had a key to your apartment then it's really complicated.  What type of evidence do you have and such?  Get all the info together- any info you can find on the pawn shop location and such... then grab a lawyer- if it's close to 60,000 it's worth it to get a lawyer.

  4. Take her to court!  That is unconscionable!  What a B...!

  5. Report her to the police, see if you can find where she pawned them they should have records and let the police know.
