  1. You then will have sole custody, but he may still have to pa child support.  Custody and child support are not exclusive.

  2. It's a shame, but let him do it...

if he doesn't want to support the child he brought into the world, then he doesn't have to.. this would also include him not visiting at all either... he has no rights when he signs them away.

it's too bad for the child, i feel badly for him.. but sometimes no father around is better than a deadbeat.

  3. Personally I would let him but maybe you need the money.

  4. He will be sorry later.  This is truly a dead beat parent.  A parent can sign their rights away if they choose to but they are still responsible for the financial aid of their child.  I know because my son's father chose to do the same thing.

  5. i just dont know why men do stuiped @#$% just anything to keep them from doing what they have to do if child support doesnt make him pay then who will that would mean to me that he really wants to have nothing to do with this child and or children at all sign away rights? thats bull just a cop out i have nothing good to say about your ex so i wont say anything else but i hope he doesnt do that because what will that child think or how will he or she feel

  6. Jil E may be wrong it depends on what state you live in.

If you really need the money I would take that.

Again depending on what state you live in  you may or may not qualify for any kind of financial assistance if you allow him to sign his rights away. (both mother & father have to agree) The state can punish you because HE is an ******.

Examine the situation from every angele. If you don't need the money then to heck with that guy. Your child may be the next Michael Phelps and the so called "dad" will be sorry.

    Good Luck

    God Bless

  7. Let him.  I am sure when he does he will be counseled on exactly what that means...not just the child support part.

If he is that low down u don't need him in your life anyway.

  8. If you live in the US and assuming you’re talking about parental rights (which is a different thing than custodial/visitation rights), he can’t just 'sign them away'.  Termination of parental rights has to be approved by a judge.  Generally speaking they won’t approve it unless it’s for the purpose of adoption.  They certainly won’t approve it just so a man can get out of paying child support.  If they allowed that, men would be lined up to do it and the welfare system would be overwhelmed (and it already is) with the need for the taxpayers to support these children.
