I have a 3 year old Dacshund mix. Whenever I come home or are even gone for 20 minutes, he gets so excited that he pees a little. Is there a way to calm him down so that he doesn't do this? And he is getting neutered next week, will this stop that?

  1. No surgery short of removing the bladder and installing a catheter could solve that problem.  For some dogs this is a normal reaction and can't be stopped.

  2. The best product I have seen that will help you with this problem is called Happy Jack Dog Diapers. They work like a charm, and are very well made. Take a look at the testimonials on the website:

    They are good for:

    TERRITORIAL MARKING

    INCONTINENCE

    MEDICAL ISSUES

    EXCITABLE URINATION

    HOUSEBREAKING

  3. This is very common in dogs.  No neutered will not stop this. The only way is when you come home try not to make a fuss of him.  Let him calm down before you say your hello's.  Good luck
