  1. Is the engine fresh water cooled or raw water?

If it is raw water cooled (pumps water in to cool engine) then your exhaust hose will have water in it as well as fumes from the engine.  Exhaust hose should be easy to purchase and install,  make sure you get a marine type hose, USCG approved to maintain safety.

  2. No!  and again No!  you'll find that the exhaust is "Wet" and not only exhaust gasses will enter the engine compartment, but "Water". not a good idea.  The good news is that most marine parts stores would have replacement hose in stock.  Take your old hose with you.

  3. No, the rip will effect the back pressure on the engine and burn the valves, in addition to filling the engine compartment with exhaust.

Exhaust hose is really cheap. Stop by the marina and pick up the length you need, it should take about 15 min. to replace it.

  4. nope, fix this one right, this if not properly repaired can kill you or others on your boat-do not patch it, properly repair it.  Take the old one off, take it to your MARINE, not automotive parts store, and purchase the correct replacement part, and re-install it correctly.  Access and normal wear can make this an extremely aggravating job, but do not try to splice it, patch it, tape it or use it without proper repair.  Be safe, and have a good time.

  5. The exhaust bellows can not be patched and it does not come in lengths. Contact your local marina for a replacement, usually around $30.00. You can change the bellows yourself but take note of the position of the clamps. While the exhaust bellows is out look at the larger u-joint bellows above it and smaller shift cable bellows to the side to see what condition they are in. If the u-joint or shift boots rip they are the ones that will fill the boat with water.

  6. no

If you can find some hi-temp silicone based tape, you might be able to temporarilly patch it. Surely a marina, or boat shop would have a spare.
