I think it's too much TV watching and computer screen staring and contact lens wearing, but my eyes used to be dark brown colored. Throughout puberty, it lightened. It now lightened to nearly hazel/yellowish hue but specks of dark still can be observed if stared in the right angle lines etc. the lighter hue is in the inner part with the dark circle/ring around it. totally diff from pics when i had as a young boy. seem to lose my childhood's innocent bright-eyed look but with a more devilish side too it now..., , especially bloodshot at times and permanent purplish blood vessels very noticeable when peeling the eyelids to show more whites of the eye. even when i sleep a lot the red only subsides a bit, I wish i had my childhood's pure midnight ~blackish eyecolor back when it was much more uniform. At this rate, they'll be golden/yellow/amber within 5-10s years, already light to medium brown.

Used to be WAY DARKER. wonder what i can do

  1. It cant be your contact lenses, it might be the melanin in your eyes. People are born with a type of melanin in their eyes that changes over time that's why babies sometimes have light eyes then darker eyes. But you should talk to your optometrist about them just to be sure.

  2. How old are you?

TV, PC and Contact lenses can definitely not change the colour of your eyes. One's eye does get lighter with age(as the fibres in your iris gets thinner and looses pigmentation). As your body changes so does your iris, have you ever heard of iridology? A reason for the hazel colour can actually indicate over stressed kidney's. So you are either drinking way too much ffluids or way too little. I'd guess its probably too little and by luids I don't mean soft drinks or alcohol or anything with artificial ingredients in it. Try drinking more water and it might also solve a lot of other health problems you have.
