Question:

My eye doctor refused to give me my contact lens prescription. Why did they ask me to come back in 3 months?

I live in the UK & had a contact lens assessment at D&A. I was given sample lenses to try for a week. The eye dr checked the lens fit & everything seemed fine. I ordered a three month supply & then asked for my prescription to keep for reference. They refused to give it to me, stating that my prescription is not yet "final" and said I had to come back in 3 months to check the lenses/fit due to regulation change 18 months ago. I have not experienced this before. Is this true or do you think they were trying to extract additional ££ from me by stringing me along to buy more contact lenses from them?

  1. I'm sure they don't want to give it to you so you will keep getting the lenses from them. However, that is not a completely bad idea. This allows you to go in and get help if you have a problem anytime. Where as, the person online processing your order can't help you if you have irritation, etc. Customer service does cost a little more, but can be well worth it.
