My eye dr said my second layer is detereating.?

Its called a defectansy an not sure if there is any thing I can do to make it better or is it going to get worse. My lenses from last year are left 20/30 and right 20/40 biut test today is left 20/-30 right same. What is going to happen and what can I do?
