My eye has been hurting ALL Day?

I kept complaining to my friends that my right eye hurts really bad. They noticed my right eye becoming red n everything. Let me note that I wear contacts. My friend told me to go to the Nurse but I said nah its okay because I thought maybe I put the contact in the wrong way. I took my contact off and it still hurt really bad. When I took the contact out, my right eye immediately went bloodshot red. I said I left it in all day and it'll probably be that way for a bit and my eye will go back to normal. It still hurts. Right now it hurts as I type this everytime I blink. I showed my sister my eye and she said she saw a scratch in my eye. How do I fix the scratch in my eye? I want to be able to use my contacts tomorrow and not wear my glasses!! Please help me.

  1. You may have scratched the cornea of your eye, but that may take a week to heal, so there isn't anything you can really do about it.

You might want to go get your eye checked out, though.

The same exact thing happened to me last week and I thought my cornea was scratched and that it was nothing, but I went to the eye doctors to get it looked at and they said it was actually an eye ulcer that can be vision-threatening and it was caused from the bacteria in my contacts.

If you get it treated soon enough it's not too much to worry about, but if left untreated, it can become serious and you may even become blind.

(Btw, I wear night and day contacts that you can leave in for a month straight, and I still got this, just keep that in mind.)

So, if I were you, I would DEFFINITELY go get my eye checked out, just incase.

Even if it ends up just becuase a scratch, they may give you some kind of cooling reliever or something.

  2. You might have an infection. It would be best to show your eye doctor and have him check it out for you.

  3. If your eye is still red or sore tomorrow, you better not wear the contact lens, you will just irritate it and make it a lot worse.

If you do have a scratch it could take a good 24 hours to heal...maybe a bit more...but you CAN'T wear a lens on it.
