I woke up this morning to a sharp pain in my left eye when I blink. I tried to peek around my eye lid and nothing looks unusual but my eye is tearing up constantly and the pain is very sharp when I blink. Any idea what this might be before I try to make an eye doctor's appointment???

  1. You might have a sty. Look it up on www.webmd.com and see if your symptoms match. When I have a sty, it hurts when I blink.

    Hope you feel better!

  2. maybe you scratched it.  that tends to hurt when you blink.

  3. Sounds like a scratched cornea or something.  An eye patch to keep you from blinking may be necessary.

I once had a flaming matchhead fly right into my eye, where it stuck.  That was painful!  Also needed a patch and of course everyone wants to know what you did to your eye.  A bit of a pain, really, having that eye patch but not nearly as painful as blinking.

  4. It could be that you have an eyelash caught under your top or bottom eye lid, or possibly an eye infection. That's all I can think of. Hope you eye gets better, that's got to be painful

  5. maybe you rubbed it in your sleep or you were scratching your eye and accident scratched your actual eyeball lol

    got any cats?

could have jumped on you and scratched it

or it could be the nerve in your eye acting up

    my eye twitches
