Question:

My eyes are sticky and difficult to open when I wake up?

Every morning for the past 5 days I have woken up with sticky eyes that are really hard to open. I have to rub them a lot to get all this gunk off of them. During the day my eyes can get red, making it look like I've been crying.

I don't know if I have allergies, but I do sneeze a lot in the summer.

  1. See the doctor, you could have Pink Eye, a highly contagious infection of your eye.

  2. pink eye sweetheart go to a eye doctor stop rubbing your eyes its very contagious!!!! if you touch your eyes immediatly wash them!!

  3. It sounds like it could be allergies or pink eye.  The second possibility is likely if the stickiness and gunkiness lasts only a few days.

Your eyes and nose are connected by a tube.  The sand (even in non-allergy season) in your eyes is really dried snot-like stuff.

  4. I think your eyes are infected. Go see a doctor to get some eyedrops and medicine to clear the virus and avoid wearing contact lenses cos they are normally the cause of the problem.
