Question:

My eyes are still dilated?

i had an optomotrist appointment 2 days ago and my eyes are still dilated. well, theyre not fully dilated, but theyre about 1/2 dilated at all times. has this happened to anyone else? and could my contacts be the cause of it? thanks

  1. My son has amblyopia (lazy eye) and to help correct it, the OD had us dialate his good eye two times a week. In between those drops, his pupils hardly went back to normal size.  I agree with the first answer, sometimes people can be more sensitive to it.  I also agree that if it doesn't go back to normal size soon enough, then to contact the OD. Chances are it's perfectly okay!


  2. Some people are more sensitive to the medication than others. I know I am.

    As well, if you put in your contacts when the medication was still active, and they may have absorbed some of the medication in the contacts.

    As long as it is receding, it should be fine - but check it out with your doctor if it hangs along too long.
