My eyes burning!?

Question

Literally. My eyes are burning. I don't know if it's because I am so tired, or because I have damaged them, but I have gotten dirt in my eyes. By the way, I do wear glasses, so I don't know what might be wrong.

summer season, you may have hayfever, but dirt doesnt help!

Well youve anwsered your own question why is it that your eyes hurt oh wait its because theres dirt in them. Yep that would do it, just go wash them out with water and then try not to go outside for a couple of years since you might do the same thing again

this has happened to me before, but mainly because my face cream got in them and i couldn't really see, it was silly of me to put face cream so near my eye lids, but hey :) you learn from mistakes eh?

it's nothing to worry about, have you tried washing your eyes out? i know that sounds disgusting but an easy way to do it is to lean over the sink and put your hand under the tap, (cold water will feel better) then just kind of blink over the water in your hand (if you understand and can imagine what i'm talking about lol) this basically washes your eye with the water, maybe your eyes need some moisture anyway :)

but by tomorrow the dirt should have either gone to the center corner of your eye (next to your nose) or just dissapeared lol. I'm sure it'll be fine by tomorrow (:

you my have scratched your cornia or your eyes are just irritated.

you should go get and eye exam so the can give you special eyedrops.

Its ether allergies or you've strained your eyes.The strain may be because of lack of sleep or you've been watching to much T.V.Or you sit to close to the computer.It is also possible you walked out side and the pollen in the air irritated your eyes.Even if your not allergic this may still happen.Either way wash your thoroughly.If they still burn try it again.If they still burn id try to go to the docs to have them take a look at 'em.Try eye drops if you want but they MAY irritate them further.That's what happens when you get dirt in your eyes be more careful next time.

Hiya Jenny,  what it could be is an allergic reaction, or possibly even hay fever, which would cause your eyes to stream,be itchy and generally very sore.

Have you come into contact with a short furred animal, or possibly pollen, or even dust. These are all well known irritants that could cause the symptoms you are suffering.

Best cure for this, if that is what it is, is a treatment of anti-histamines, which should be available from the pharmacy/chemist.

If this persists, see your doctor or nurse, or even in an extreme, the emergency room/accident department.

Also it may well be worth seeing your doctor for a test for what allergies you may be suffering from.
