  1. oh man I forgot that you could damage your eye from this lol I should take breaks xD

  2. actually it cant damage your eyes but it can give you headaches and eye strain, which is temporary.

  3. yeah, i have glasses now from spending alot of my time infront of the television and computer. you shoulod take regular breaks, every half an hour for around 5 to 10 minutes! get your eyes tested. people under 18 can go free! also don't sit too close to the monitors or television screens

  4. get your eyes tested........take a short break every 30 Min's......make sure the screen is in a comfortable position.

  5. go have your eyes tested, when your on the computer make sure you have short breaks and make sure the computer isn't the only light in the room

  6. yes and no!!!!! first of all you forget to blink and what you have is dry eyes get some eyedrops from your, friendly Chemist. you know the one where you get pills and other medicine from, they have eyedrops you should use i am doing that sensible thing myself p.s. if you are using glasses. you can get a special pair made when you use your pc. ttip you still get sore eyes regaedless so use eyedrops before using your pc and when finished  or long session  during and all is ok

  7. Yeah it can damage your eye sight. Just use the safety screen i don't know what its actual name but that is used to save your eyes and we cover the monitor screen with it.

  8. Your eyes are hurting because you're spending long periods looking at the screen, you need to take regular breaks from the screen.  If you do not need a prescription for glasses then there are no glasses that canhelp you.

However if you continue to spend a lot of time on the computer and without taking regular breaks you may need a prescription at some point as your eyes get used to focusing at a certain distance.

  9. hiya the reason why you your eyes are sore is basically looking at the screen constantly, and this can harm the sight,if you do not take a break every 30 minutes.if your eyes are dry,as you find you wont blink as often try eye spray called clarymist,it is expensive but puts the moisture back into your eyes.also get your eyes tested.there are special screens you can pace over the monitor screen which helps aswell, but am not sure where you would get this.

    good luck

  10. take 15 mins away from the screen every hour and it should stop if ur still worried or still getting the pain go see the optician

  11. Best practice when using monitors is :

    - Ensure your eye level is in line with the top of the monitor

    - Ensure your monitor is set at the right refresh rate and is not flickering

    - Don't have a bright light on the monitor (if you have a window behind you etc, the reflection will cause bad eye strain)

    - Take regular 15 minute breaks away from your monitor every hour or so and don't use a monitor when your eyes are already very tired

    - Get your eyes tested regularly

I dont believe your eye sight can be permanently damaged but as someone has said previously you can definitely get headaches and eye strain

  12. The best thing you can do is to take frequent breaks.  Get a program that reminds you of the time every half an hour (I like Provenio's Say the Time), and take a break, focusing on something in the distance by looking out a window or going outside.  Blink, and rest your eyes.  I've heard people say that you should take 20 seconds every 20 minutes or 30 seconds every 30 minutes, but my optometrist told me I should take a few minutes every half an hour.

  13. Some wear glasses and some have a cover over their monitor. My wife likes to keep the room light off at night but I have asked her not to allow the monitor to be the brightest object in the room because this causes more eyestrain, like staring at a lightbulb.

So the lighter the room the less eyestrain the monitor places on you.

Take more frequent breaks. Good luck.
