Question:

My eyes hurt when I put an eyeliner on...?

I always had this problem. I'm 16 and I love eyeliners!

When I put an eyeliner on, it feels fine for few minutes but then my eyeballs start to hurt. It's not like the pain is unbearable but I can feel it (I only wear it once or twice a week). The worst happens when I move my eyeballs (up and down, left to right)

It only hurts. There is no swelling, itching or redness.

SO I started using eyeshadow as an eyeliner. It still hurts.

No matter what kind of eyeliner or eyeshadow I use it still hurts

Could I be allergic or something? (I have no other allergies at all)

Should I try this one?

  1. Hmm. Well I don't think you're allergic cause I think that happens to everybody but it usually only lasts a few minutes. Do you use a penil? Cause those hurt....I use Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Color Eye Definer and it works great. Maybe that kind will work for oyu.

  2. are you putting it on your waterline?

    that could be the reason.

it can irritate your eyes. you can try putting it on the lash line instead.

  3. well I hope you're not putting on your eyeballs haha

are you sure you're placing it on the right places?

under the eyes: the edge of the skin but never inside the lid

eyelids: on the hair line or above it

or maybe the product you're using has bad effects on you. you might wanna try other brands and ask a proffesional. you dont wanna damage your eyes right?

    hope this helps :)

  4. if you had your makeup for at least month or more that could be the problem either that you could be allergic to one of the ingrediants in it

  5. My suggestion is to try a different brand of make-up. Their are different types of ingredients in different brands of make-up. The only way to figure out if you are allergic to certain ingredients are by trying different brands. If you cant find a brand that works you should try all-natural make-up products.Another option would be to see a dermatologist to see if they can help. Hope this helps!

or basically just any eyeshadow wet

  8. omg i kno what you mean; u are definitely using a cheap brand; always use a brand thats a little expensive cuz it works; for example dior eyeliner is AMAZING! i used it and it stays on forever and never irritates; also ESTEE lauder artistic eye pencil is awesome.

  9. Hello, yes yes yes, you are allergic. This same thing happen to me too! My eyes would just sting and water..it was horrible! Then I tried Almay. It is a makeup line that is all hypoallergentic. Its great! You should definently give a try. You can found Almay at ant Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, Target......Good luck!

  10. You could try to use that, but I would suggest using a cream liner. I always had trouble like that until I used Loreal HIP cream shadow. The brush and liner does not irritate my eyes like powder shadows or liners. If you want you could also try kohl liners. (Sephora makes a good one for 4 bucks) They are smoother and go on easier with less irritation on the eye. Hoped this helps! Oh, and you cold always apply the cream liner right under your water liner and smudge it to get the same effect without touching the inside of your eyes.

  11. The only reason that they probably hurt is because you r getting it in or to close to your eye. Hope this helps!
