My face is so oily. It is so annoying. I also have acne on my forehead. I have tried everything to get rid of it, including Proactiv. It just doesn't work. Nothing really works for me. I have even been to a dermatologist tech. and she made my skin a lot better, but I still have acne and my face is so oily. I haven't been to her for a couple of months. The acne that I have has been there for a couple of months-the same zits, and I can't get rid of it. It is just bugging me so much. I put anti-oil stuff on my face all the time and it still doesn't work very well. i am getting really fed up with it. Is there anything I can do about it? I am thinking about asking my mom if I can go to a dermatologist. By the way, I am 14. I cover my acne up with liquid foundation that is not oil based. Please give me some advice.

  1. Get a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer for oily skin. I like the products from Origins the best (and the people that work there are really great about helping you get the products you need) But products containing white china clay are generally really good for oily skin.

Foundation = bad for oily skin

Part of this is puberty, and it should get better when you get older.

  2. It sounds like you are still going through puberty and the oily skin problem may be related to all those raging hormones. Try altering your diet to not include anything fatty or too sugary and eat lots of vegetables.

  3. Wash you're face with warm water twice a day.People say that washing you're face too much will give you dry skin but if you put on lotion after you're face is fully dried,it should help cause ive been to one of the best dermatologist in ottawa and he cured a skin desease that i had.

  4. I suggest going back to your dermatologist.

I have the same problem. I took accutane, and for six months, my skin was clear; flawless. But when the accutane left my bloodstream, I was back to being zit face again.

Liquid foundation is a bad idea for really oily skin, especially since you say you have a lot of acne on your foreheard. Expensive powder foundation is your best bet. I use Bare Minerals, and if you feel that's too expensive, try L'Oreal Mineral foundation. Still just as good. Also, use some concealer. I use Sheer Cover concealer.

But go back to your dermatologist and express your concerns. If you feel that nothing the dermatologist throws at you is going to work, ask about accutane. Depending on your skin type, you may have to be on it twice. I'm on Accutane for the second time--and Accutane has worked for about 98% of its participants.

If you want to preven those oils, was your face in the morning and put on a Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. That stuff works miracles. Even if you get oily during the day, you can powder on a mineral veil and the oil's gone.

You are going through puberty--which sucks, I've been there--so try altering your diet as well.
