Is this part of sunni beliefs?? To bless food on special events, like Eid Milad Un Nabi and Shab - Mehraj, Muharram (10th), Laylatul Qadr, Eid Ul Adha, Eid ul Fitr?? My family does this. My family also reads surahs over water and then we drink that.

Is this part of sunni beliefs?

My mothers family in Pakistan also visit graves of Wali Allah and Peers (Islamic 'saints) Is this deobandi or Sunni belief?

  1. IT IS ISLAMIC BELIEF.

    Wahhabis are followers of Iblees.

Iblees hates Rasoolallah (saww) so wahhabis hate anything related to Rasoolallah (saww)

  2. Going to graves is from Brailvi

There is no evidence from Quran & sunnah

If any body Seeks help from the dead person ,It becomes shirk

So we should not involve our selves in it

i am also from the family who goes to graves i was like that too.

But Alhumdolillah After studying Quran & hadith ,I repented

May Allah accept my Repentence and give me strength to stand for the truth.which is TAWHEED

  3. I sometimes read ayatul kursi over what i eat when i remember. soo maybe...

  4. it is a sunni belief my family do it as well :)

but its also a p**i belief lol!!

  5. asalamualikum sis... this is a sunni belief as we are giving thanks to Allah swt for giving us such laxuarys and making us the Ummah of prophet Mohammad saw...

people tend to treat ppl like ur gran as royalty as Allah swt has chosen them to heal us and protect us from the evil of shaytaan n his influences in ppl through blak magic..... however these ppl should not b CHARGING for such powers..they are allowed however to ask for a small donation or however much ppl want to give... a molana in our town was given a house as he helped a couple concieve through the guidance of Allah swt...

visiting graves is also allowed as sunnis, we visit durgahs also as we r allowed to...these are the ppl who have guided us and made our religion available worldwide by spreading the word of islam...

may Allah swt guide us the right way Ameen

    Allah hafiz

  6. As far as visiting graves of walis and peers is concerned, there is no such thing as sainthood in Islam and the Prophet (p) has prohibited anyone from setting out to travel on a religious pilgrimage other than Makkah and Medina.

This beleif is widespread in India/Pakistan/Bangladesh and is a huge and lucrative business for those involved in the upkeep and running of the graves.
