Some portions of our trip are planned by our travel agent but we decided to be on our own in Paris. We plan to go to Disneyland among others. Is there a Universal Studio in Paris or the like? Is it easy to get a ride from the Paris train station to a local hotel? Need inputs. Thanks

  1. Paris itself is better than all the Disneylands in the world put together.

Public transportation in Paris is very good with a system of buses and subways (called the Metro).

From either of the two stations you will take the Metro Line 5 marked "Direction : Bobigny-Pablo-Picasso" to the Porte de Pantin station.

When you exit the metro station you will be on Avenue Jean Jaures and you hotel will be about one block to the east.

The Hotel you have booked is popular with travel agents and international tourists because, quite frankly, it is so very modern and American. It is located on the edge of the city and in the north. That is no problem because the metro will take you to the city center in just minutes. The only small difficulty is that the Metro stops running at about midnight but since you will be traveling with your child I assume you will not be planning very late night activities.

  2. there is no "universal studio" but "disney studio" in the same place than eurodisney. You'll find a lot of hotels all around the different train stations and near disney

  3. I strongly agree with Rilifane, DLP is not worth the time, honestly the Florida parks are better and are guaranteed no queues and pleasant weather.

Do take time to visit a few places such as Vaux le Vicomte which inspired Versailles take a we trip to Brittany or Normandy or Lyon or visit some wine producing regions or better even walk and get lost in Paris, it is a tiny city really and wonderful in many aspects as it has a lot to offer to pedestrians who take the time to look and enjoy instead of taking the tourist buses and "do" the city in a day or less.

Check out Rilifane's many knowledgeable suggestions as to areas to discover.

if you come to France to see America why bother flying  ? go to Florida or go to the Hard rock cafe get the T-shirt and voila

  4. In Paris, try to see some art museums (the Louvre is a must).  Buy a museum pass-- much cheaper than paying admission every time you enter a museum (unless you visit only one museum).  Try to use the Metro (subway system).  Fast, clean and cheap. As in all crowded subways beware of pickpockets and do not leave your bags (suitcases, shopping bags) unattended, not even for 10 seconds.  All my taxi experiences in France have been bad (even those not in Paris) and I speak French!  Disneyland is fine for a day, but do not miss the cultural experience of museums, walking the streets of Paris and eating at smaller bistros (where every day French ppl eat).
